The Fletch App was developed as a user-friendly alternative to conventional fletching with features including:
On a bare shaft, just press it on using the included tools. Even in the field without the tools, a rock or tree or other solid object can be used to press the Fletch App body onto the arrow shaft.
Depending on the density of the target or animal the arrow passes through, the Fletch App may fall to the ground and mark the point of impact, or stay on the shaft. If a fletch becomes partially dislodged from the Fletch App body, have no fear. Just pull the partially dislodged fletch from the slot, remove any dirt or debris from the slot, and slide the fletch back into place.
If you've ever fletched your own arrows, you know that glue can be messy. Also, the cyanoacrylate based adhesives typically used for conventional fletching are known to lose performance over time, especially if stored in anything other than ideal conditions. The Fletch App uses no adhesives to bond the body to the arrow shaft or the fletches to the body. The bodies press on to the arrow shafts, so note that it is important to be sure you have the correct size Fletch App for your arrow shafts.
The Fletch App makes tuning arrows easy. All arrow shafts have a stiff side, in other words, a tendency to flex in one direction instead of others. Some shafts are more sensitive to this than others, and accounting for this by orienting the shafts consistently is also known as spine tuning. With the Fletch App, you can perform spine tuning in the field by shooting groups and turning the Fletch App and nock around each shaft to get the most consistent groupings.
With a 1:30 helical twist, the Fletch App has slightly more drag on the tail end than conventional fletching with minimal flight noise difference. The result is a more stabilized arrow that reduces the effect of large fixed blade broadheads. If your bow is tuned properly, the Fletch App allows for field-point-like performance with broadheads.
